Detailed Description:
The Marbleton Plant, one of the oldest lime production facilities in North America, is equipped with modern and efficient production equipment. For limestone, the plant draws on an extensive ocean reef deposit which has been quarried since 1824. The plant has a vertical and a rotary lime kiln, both of which provide superior thermal performance. The MAERZ parallel flow regenerative lime kiln is currently fired with natural gas, but may at some future date be converted to solid fuels. The preheater-equipped rotary kiln, which uses pulverized solid fuel, provides flexibility and efficiency while assuring the maximal use of raw materials. Both kilns are equipped with computerized controls, which make for superior process stability and quality control. The plant's annual lime production capacity is 330,000 tonnes, and its hydration capacity is 50,000 tonnes. The Marbleton plant has storage facilities for up to 8,000 tonnes; this guarantees customers a ready supply of the plant's entire product line. The Marbleton plant serves the local region with construction aggregates and is also a major producer of agricultural lime.
