RICHMOND, May 1, 2005 - Graymont has adopted a new corporate high efficiency vehicle (HEV) policy. An element of Graymont’s sustainable growth initiative, this policy will see Graymont employees eligible for company cars leading by example in our commitment to reduce emissions of all kinds.

The cornerstone of this policy is a stringent fuel efficiency standard that corporate vehicles must meet. The standard is a government rating for city driving of a maximum 9.0 litres per 100 kilometres (minimum 26 miles per gallon). All Graymont company cars will meet this standard within four years.

This policy sees Graymont promoting best available technologies for vehicle fuel efficiency, including hybrid and high efficiency diesel technologies. Promotion and use of high efficiency vehicles is but one step in Graymont’s journey to sustainability.
