Pleasant Gap - Watershed Cleanup Day

Salt Lake City, May 11, 2009

Each year Pleasant Gap, PA’s local watershed group (ClearWater Conservancy) holds a Watershed Cleanup Day on the weekend that coincides with Earth Day.  This year the cleanup was held on Saturday, April 25.  The goal is to clean up debris that could affect nearby water resources.

For the third year in a row several employees of Graymont’s Pleasant Gap plant, and their families participated in the cleanup (30 people in total, children and adults).  They cleaned up stretches of a stream in and around Bellefonte, PA, a neighboring community of Pleasant Gap and specifically a portion of stream near an old quarry on Graymont property and another Graymont facility.  In total they collected over five tons of trash.

Graymont takes a long term view of its business and the lime industry and is looking forward to continuing its work in Pleasant Gap and in so doing, improving our environment, contributing to the community as a good neighbor and adding value as a responsible business partner.
