Pleasant Gap Plant Addresses Fugitive Dust

(SALT LAKE CITY, August 15, 2006) -- Graymont has addressed fugitive dust issues that resulted in a $7500 fine for air quality violations. Violations were observed during Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection inspections in July and December 2005 and January 2006. “Graymont needed to improve its record keeping procedures and its ability to control fugitive dust emissions,” DEP Northcentral Regional Director Robert Yowell said. “The company has done that, and all violations have been corrected.”

Graymont takes a long term view of its business and the lime industry. Reducing fugitive dust emissions is a necessary part of Graymont’s work to ensure a long term future. We look forward to continuing our work in Central Pennsylvania and in so doing, improving our environment, contributing to the community as a good neighbor and adding value as a responsible business partner.
